The Christmas season always reminds us of joy, kindness, festivity, and friendship. To celebrate it and give it the attention it deserves, we all try to add a bit of our soul and effort into the preparations. From time to time, I love decorating the Christmas tree with bows made from ribbons. Whether you have a real or artificial tree, ribbon bows can add a touch of cuteness and elegance to the holiday cheer.
Here are some simple steps – and a video – showing how I like to make bows for the Christmas tree.
Below is the video demonstrating the technique I use to tie the ribbons
- Depending on the size of your tree, you’ll need to get the appropriate amount of ribbon.
- Once you have ribbons in your desired color, cut them into pieces of about 30 cm each. I prefer to cut them diagonally (rather than straight) to create uneven ends, as I like the way it looks. However, you can go for straight cuts if you prefer.
- If you plan to decorate the tree with other ornaments, toys, or garlands, it’s best to add those first. This makes it easier to see where to place the bows. Once you’re done with the other decorations (if any), choose spots for your bows and tie them to the ends of the tree branches. I find it easier to start at the top and work my way down to the bottom of the tree.
